Isn’t it sad that there is only one official day every year on which people are encouraged to give thanks for their blessings?? As you might be able to guess, I think every day should be filled with gratitude, but I guess I have to be realistic here. Wouldn’t at least one other official day on the calendar be a move in the right direction? Or one official day for each season of the year?
A girl can dream, I guess! In any event, I do have very many blessings to be thankful for this year. I went to Belize for the second time (again to celebrate my birthday). We had a tremendous time!
After 10 years of being together, Tom and I finally took the plunge and got married on May 15th at Fort Fisher, NC. I am particularly grateful to our friends and family who made the effort to travel to Kure Beach to share our big day with us!
We honeymooned in Bermuda, which was absolutely gorgeous!
I went on a long-awaited girls’ weekend trip to Boston –
And I started a new job (with a much higher salary!)
The amazing view from the window in my new office
These are just a few of the major things that I am grateful for this year. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but I discovered that once I started to make a concerted effort to be more appreciative of my blessings, I found more and more things to be grateful for in my life. I know that even more wonderful experiences are just around the corner, and I will remember to appreciate them when they arrive.
What are you grateful for today?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
